The Flood Warning continues for
the bird creek near Owasso-Mingo.
* Until Tuesday afternoon, or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 11:30 PM Saturday, the stage was 7.40 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the bird creek near Owasso-Mingo is expected to rise
above flood stage early this morning and continue to rise to near
22.6 feet by Monday before dawn. The river is expected to fall
below flood stage Tuesday morning.
* Impact... at 23.0 feet, extensive flooding occurs in Mohawk Park with
access roads covered by high water. Mingo Road between 56th street
north and 76th street north are closed due to high water. Flood
waters may threaten the Oxley nature center.

* Until Tuesday morning, or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 5:00 am Sunday, the stage was 20.89 feet.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the bird creek near Sperry is expected to rise above
flood stage this morning and continue to rise to near 26.5 feet by
Monday morning. The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Tuesday before dawn .
* Impact... at 27.0 feet, extensive flooding occurs. Lower urban areas
in east Skiatook begin to flood. Highway 20 east of Skiatook is
closed. Some roads between Turley and north Tulsa may be blocked.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Caney river near Collinsville.
* Until Wednesday morning, or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 4:30 am Sunday, the stage was 27.08 feet.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the Caney river near Collinsville will continue rising
to near 31.1 feet this evening. The river is expected to fall below
flood stage early Wednesday morning.
* Impact... at 31.0 feet, widespread moderate flooding occurs. Rural
roads near the Caney river become impassable.

* at 1208 am CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
areas of light rain across the warned area. Although additional
rainfall amounts will remain light in the short term... 5 to 6
inches have already fallen and flooding of low lying areas will
likely continue. Numerous secondary roads remain closed due to
flooding and high water.

* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause flooding to occur.

Okemah... Okmulgee... Pawhuska... Pawnee... Sand Springs... Tulsa...

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the Road to
unknown depths. It only takes two feet of rushing water to carry away
most sport utility vehicles and pickups. Take a different Route to
reach your destination or wait until the water recedes. Remember...
most flood related deaths occur in automobiles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. If flash flooding is observed act quickly. Do
not enter the water. Turn around and move up to higher ground to
escape flood waters. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when
water begins rising.

* showers and thunderstorms will we widespread across all of
eastern Oklahoma and west central and northwest Arkansas today.
The heavy rain will continue begin to taper off tonight.

* Additional rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches will be common
through tonight. Local amounts during the day into the evening
hours could reach 5 or 6 inches.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Life threatening flooding can develop rapidly with these rainfall
amounts... especially near area rivers and lakes. Be prepared to
heed flood warnings and act quickly.

If you are in the watch area... keep informed... and be ready for
quick action if flash flooding is observed or if a warning is

as a weather radio.
